Deadlifts - legs or back

I'm getting ready for my first run (will probably start after the holidays).

I have never deadlifted before (always avoided them through being scared of lower back injury).

So I want to start DLing now in preparation for BP. I currently do a four day split
- Chest and Bis
- Legs
- Rest
- Back
- Shoulders and Tris
- Rest
- Rest

Should I incorporate DLs on my back days or leg days (or even do a different split in preparation for BP)?

Thanks

I like to do 'em with back. Squats and deads on the same day is too much for me.

Deadlifts first, always.

Total body lift and takes a LOT out of you. Always remember that. Train abs LAST too. To fatigue them prior to a SQ/DL is to invite injury.

Just looking out for you as I've made that mistake...
