Just finishing my week off

Just finishing my week off and am so excited to start famine phase on monday.

I am 40 yrs. old and have been lifting off and on my whole life glad I found a program that has huge potential.

I am currrently 5'10' and 170#'s
Measurements:(not sure if I am measuring right)
Chest 41 1/2
Shoulders 51
arms 13
legs 22

I need lots of work with my legs. Have always been a hard gainer with my legs. My upper body tends to be easier to build. I am thinking about using the 20 rep squat routine for the feast phase? What do you think?
Thanks for your help
Bryan

Going by the logs, a few BP'ers have done a 20 rep squat routine and I think most of them had great results (as does anyone following the Blueprint correctly!). I say go for it and see what happens :)

Ah Thanks thats what I was thinking also. I seen the 20 rep squat routine in the blueprint and was leaning towards using it for the first round.
I have read the blueprint twice already and each time find something new or just looked over. So much information there, I think I may have to read it a few more times to get all the phases and tips down.

Randall J. Strossen's "Super Squat's". aka 20 rep breath squats is a FINE bulking routine. You may want to touch base with DaCookie here, who put on an astounding circa 16lbs of largely LBM, during his FIRST run, with The Blueprint...

The one observation I/we will make about this routing, is that the original recommendation of "take your best 10 rep squat and perform 20 reps with it...", needs to be modified.

Instead, consider performing 20 reps with an extra 3-5 left in the tank and graduate up in 5-10lb increments from there.

REASON: To not get 20 reps out of the gate has potential devastating physical and psychological consequences. You need to remember that these recommendation were put forth by Strossen for your AVERAGE trainees.

5Faces of Fear(tm), don't do "average". Neither, should YOU!!! :)

Dunno if you're interested, but I offer customized programs. Some recent feedback, here...

FROM SKIA, VIA BODY BUILDING DOT COME - IN GREECE!!!

"I am Panos 33 and I workout lets say from 18 3-4 months a year with a stop 4 years.

I started 2 years before more seriously. In September 2010 i read about this BP workout so I decided to invest to it after reading good words and stuck with my gains for over 4 months.
I am 170 cm and 70kgs

I did 1 half round (bad bad flu) and the one complete round of BP2 using A/X(1 bt) Triazole(1bt) ebol ecdy (1bt) size on MP and PSU (exept from the basics!)

All stats went up more than expected (I have lost the previous track details).

The best part is i kept all my gains. Many times in the past i beat my PR but then i went back and so on...

I beat all my PR by far and then... came BP3 (free upgrade) so i decided to invest on a more personalized program by Rob for recomp.

This time I used Xfactor adv (1,5 bt), Testforce2 (25 days), size on MP, SPmax and half Rob's recipe for postworkout.

I started some extreme cut before this program and in a few days i lost 4cm in belly size. With this cut a small % for strength was lost but then the gain period started.

In the start of the 2nd week i returned to all of my PRs and then (small summary)....

PR when finished BP2 BP3
Squat in smiths lbs 330 400

Dips with added weight lbs 93 153
Seated cable rows (kg) 90 100
Tris Skull Crusher lbs 80 102
Bis curls kgs (one hand) 16,8 22

I took 3,5 cm in chest 2.5 cm in left arm and lost 1 more cm (5 total) from belly!!!

Weight went up 1-1,5 kgs but the change in the mirror is obvious.

Now follows the last period that i ll solidify my gains and loose some extra fat

So that is my story.
BP3 works bamned good!

PS

The backup from Rob on my questions was aswome..."

I assure you, this will be the BEST investment, outside of 3.0 - You'll EVER make!!!

NOTE: He was overseas.... :)

That's a pretty awesome review!

I'm hoping my monetary situation starts looking up soon (like august is my best projected estimate) cause I really want one of these...

I joined another transformation contest, but I have about 15-20lbs of very stubborn fat to lose and some skin needs to tighten up... which is easier when muscles are growing under them ;)

I love all the results I've been reading about. I may just have to stick with stock 3.0 for now but I really do plan on investing on a custom program in the near future...

"man let's get some mad scientists to do some gene splicing, my legs build super-strong and fast and my upper body lags"

That funny..... I'm Game Rob is there something in the BP for this?LOL

Sorry for the late reply, Been busy. Just finished my second workout for famine, This is tough no doubt. I just think " I only have a couple more days..." and that helps get through it.
I ordered the BP stack last sunday and just checked the tracking should show up friday-Perfect timing.

Rob here is a couple questions for the next phase
Do I use the adaptogen for the 72hr before feast also?
For the 20 rep squat is this just one set?

Thanks Rob for all your help!

A. OK, let's get you to Gainsville... :)

Do I use the adaptogen for the 72hr before feast also?

No, doing so violates Famine principle #2; "Though shalt not intake any performance supps, during Famine..." :):)

For the 20 rep squat is this just one set?

A. Yes sir, one all out set with DEEP breathes in between. This set may last up to 2-3 minutes!!

Do take care to SQUEEZE the abs, when going down/coming back up. Doing so will mitigate the stress on the lower back.

With respect to your customized plan, all 5Faces of Fear(tm), are on standby...

Hope that helps!!

oo i think he means the 72 hours after famine, refeeding and resting, whereas rob is talking about famine itself - if that's the case, then yes, you do take your adaptogens during that 72-hour window.

Thanks Rob once again very informative.

Thanks nigh70wl Yes I was talking about the 72hrs before feast.

Only 2 more days untill famine ends! Can't wait untill feast phase I can truly say Famine sucks! It is so hard not to just cut a couple days short and go right into feast phase I guess my patience is lacking. Nice big juicy steak sounds so good right now.LoL

Thanks again guys.
