Question on the Blueprint Periodic
Question on the Blueprint Periodic
I've been looking on the forum for at least an hour for information on the BP Periodic so I just decided to ask.
When running GLP 1 & 2 during feast phase, do I both bench AND squat according to the pattern listed in the book or is it a single lift programme? Thanks in advance for the help!

I'm wrapping up a routine that leads directly into my prep for my (military, annual) PT test. Once that's done, it's off to BP!sovabrat wrote:Don't put off what you can begin today! I think you should start now to learn famine and your body's reactions to it. BP 2.0 is solid as a standalone. Heck, you could even modify your feast halfway through. My two cents.
bigpelo = Mixelflick, Rob and all 3Faces of Fear(tm) in the answer department!!bigpelo wrote:You should do a two days split routine. One day squat, the other bench press or something like that.
Don't forget to rest between workouts!
Good thing too, things are gettin' bizzee!!! Today? I'll be on "Superhuman" satellite radio again, talking about The Blueprint!!
Thanks again bigpelo (and others!).
Can't say it enough!!!

I'm not exactly following the periodic...
I'm doing GLP 1 after the bridge though, and I'm going to save GLP 2 for a second feast phase. Because personally, it would be way too long of a feast for me. I think my body works better in short phases.
The BP Periodic is set up to go straight through, or take a break though, right?

I believe so.beefcake66 wrote:I'm not exactly following the periodic...

With proper supplementation (and food) with the intent to gain strength (with minimal concern for weight gain/loss) would it be possible to (if not inadvisable to) run the sessions as full body workouts? Has this been done?
EDIT: Question answered elsewhere. Decided very against this.

1st run glp 1
2nd run glp 2
3rd run im going back to a modified #1
A. Either or. Some may need to initiate Famine after GLP II. If you need any guidance well, you know who to ask...beefcake66 wrote:I'm not exactly following the periodic...

Just for clarification because I feel that the BP is not terribly clear on all this:
In general, prior to performing the chosen loading pattern, we perform the normal feast "bridge" workouts (as outlined in the feast stickies) in order to establish a 1RM.
Following these "bridge" workouts and the establishment of a new 1RM, we rest for X number of days and then begin our loading pattern of choice (in this case, GLP #1. But the other protocols would follow the same principles) using our new 1RM as a guideline. In the context of the Blueprint periodic (is that camelcase?), we then proceed with our new 1RM (105% of 1RM established in the bridge) from GLP #1 to GLP #2 and so on into the Russian programme and finally 10% solution. (with the caveat that most people will break between GLP #2 and the Russian programme to fast and return to feast)
Is that how I am to understand it? One would not simply jump into GLP#1 after the fast?
