WEEK 1- WO#2

Descriptive expletive for todays workout: wobblay!

Today was intense yet again. I had to pack in the workout in a shorter time span, because I had to get to a meeting. That meant less rest between sets, and really pushing to get it done!

Deadlift: (I realized I hadnt actually established a true Max with this, so put in where I felt I would be at for the percentages: worked out well, may go up a little next time).
1x5x140
2x5x160
2x4x180
4x3x190

*Did a 'super circuit' of biceps next*
The back to DL:
1x5x140
2x5x160
2x4x180
2x3x200

Lunges:
5x5(each leg)x45

Felt really good. Was extremely sore yesterday from the first workout, but got nice and stretched out today. Not as sore, tomorrow should feel good. Looking forward to a nice metric f-ton of bench on Friday!
Stay tuned: 14 sets for a total of 58 reps. Followed by a lotta squat :)

WEEK 1- WO#3

Descriptive expletive for todays workout: BEAST

Today's workout was later than usual, as I had to get some things done after lunch right away, so I didnt hit the gym until I got back. Gym was packed, so I had to wait a bit to get a bench.

Workout was really good. Felt good, felt strong. The lower weights sort of make you feel "special" because you are lifting so little, yet they kick your ass by the last few sets.... pretty challenging.

BENCH:
1x7x100
1x6x105
1x5x115
1x4x125
2x3x135
2x2x150
2x3x135
1x4x135
1x6x115
1x8x105
1x10x100

SQUAT:
1x5x135
2x4x150
2x3x180
5x3x190
This wasnt too brutal. My legs are feeling stronger already....

Had it goin on today, really pumped about the next two months. I have decided I am going to compete in my first weightlifting competition. Probably going to go RAW and shooting to stay in the 148 class. I really dont think I can/or want to go up to the 162 class, as I would probably do better in the lower class. Who knows.

Bought some new Pendlay deadlifting shoes. Will see how they feel! :)

Those are you're 90th percentile lifts (bolded). Consider the following then:

A.) Longer rest periods between sets;
B.) Mentally rehearse all lifts, but especially these at least 3x prior. One of those, should come prior to sleep.

REASON: What the subconscious mind has "seen".... can be achieved.

Great work mant!!

Im not sure what you mean by longer rest periods between sets?
I was following what I was supposed to do for the days workout.. Those last two sets were only 70 and 75 percent....
where does your comment come from?

Thanks for the help :)

Sheiko has you resting that short a time period in that percentile?

That IS brutal. More brutal than even I/we thought!!!

WEEK 2- WO#4

Descriptive expletive for todays workout: Monstrosity

Today's workout wasn't too bad. I actually felt really strong and could have pushed out a lot more than I had on the workout.

Nonetheless, rough afternoon. Traveling to a funeral for a close friends dad who had a sudden heart attack last week.

Will be back tomorrow for some biceps and back :)

SQUAT:
1x5x135
2x4x155
2x3x180
5x2x205

BENCH:
1x5x100
1x4x120
2x3x135
6x2x155

Pushups: 5x10 (too easy for this pushup stud, will increase these to 5x25 next time.

SQUAT:
1x3x140
1x1x165
4x3x190

Good mornings: 3x5x65,75,85

In all not a shabby one. Looking forward to getting into deadlift on wednesday. Hopefully will have my new deadlift shoes by then :) Bought some Pendlay WL shoes in lime green and black. Hopefully I bought the right size!

WEEK 2- WO#5

Descriptive expletive for todays workout: Sissy

Today's workout wasn't bad at all. I made it through all the lifts without a problem at all. They actually seemed a little easy. I might have to have a little check-see and see if I need to move up in weight.... Not sure though what the protocol is. I will have to think about it and have a look around.

Got to use my new Pendlay shoes today. Felt great! Really like them... hopefully I will be able to lift a little more too now that Im better balanced :)

DEADLIFT:
1x4x133
2x4x158
4x4x177

BENCH:
1x5x100
2x5x120
5x4x135

DEADLIFT:
1x4x133
1x1x158
2x3x197
5x3x217

Lunges: 5x5eachlegx80lbs

Deadlift felt really good. I really think Im going to be able to hit some good numbers for my size. Only thing that bothered me was my hands hurt a little bit.
Gotta use less of the palm since it gets pinched.

Want to be able to compete raw, so no gloves :)

All for now![/img]

Since no gloves, then I would assume that means no straps?

Posted: Wed Apr 20, 2011 6:23 pm
by JML2011
yup! No straps. Havent really used straps much except a little with rack pulls, but only after the usual sets. Then I use the straps to get a nice heavy set in.
