shoulder/arm rehab question

Post by the_buffer »

Hey guys,

Question for those with experience with injuries.

I injured my traps/delts a while back and now that I've been getting back into a more normal routine I've noticed that my right arm is significantly weaker than my left arm. Should I only work my right arm hard and let it "catch up" to my left, or work both arms hard hoping that it will even itself out over time?

Thanks!

Ive read that you work both arms.. do what you can do with both arms.. then for your weaker arm rest and keep doing reps untill you match your strong arm as needed..

I would think you need to continue doing the reps as normal to get them to balance out eventually, although I have considered uneven loading of the bar to make one side heavier and force the weaker side to pull more weight, although I am not sure how effective and/or safe that would really be.
