Time for a quick update

Workout 3 of 5
BP 230x3
Pullovers 70x3

Squat 265x3
SLDL 210 x3

EDT
This didn't go well and had to give up the supersets. too many people trying to grab equipment.

Workout 4 of 5 (deload)
BP 187x8
Pullovers 60x8
Squat 220x8
Didn't get any SLDL done

1 EDT block
Incline plate loaded press
90x6,6,6,6
110x6,6
Seated plate loaded rows
88x6,6,6,6
110x6,6

EDT 2
Leg curl
88x6,6,6,6
100x6,6,6,6
Leg extension
88x6,6,6,6
100x6,6,6,6

As you see I increased weight as it was turning out too easy. It's talking me a while to get into the EDT groove.

I felt good at the end of this session - could have done more, but didn't want to push it as it was deload - we'll see what the 1rm session brings.

Observations
My weight isn't quite back to pre famine, but I seem to be gaining size around my waist and feel I've lost some muscle mass. I wonder whether I took famine too deep. Don't feel like I have traction yet. Am taking KA and Adaptogen, Mass Whey but waiting to feel the impact - maybe I'm a slow starter - wouldn't be the first time...

Hang in there Steve..

Let's give it one more week and revisit next Friday. Sometime, it can make all the difference. If not, we'll work it out :)

Some updates

Workout 5 of 5 - 1RM
Bench - 1x 248
Squat - 1x 330

GLP 1 - Bench
148x10
154x8
170x8
176x8
192x8
203x7 (missed last rep)

GLP 1 - Squat
187x10
198x8
220x8
231x8
253x5
Disappointed with this session - I missed 3 reps and an entire set. It was very early in the morning and clearly wasn't ready for it.

GLP 2 - Bench
148x10
170x8
176x6
192x6
203x6
220x6 - nailed every rep.

GLP 2 - Squat
187x10
220x8
231x6
253x6
264x6
286x5 - Missed last rep, but better that previous session.

Did various EDTs with sessions.

As you can tell, I havn't posted for a long time. I've completed my first run and here is my summary, observations and stats.

To be honest wasn't sure it was working for me as I'd hoped. GLP1 bench improved a little 260lb to 270lb and squat didn't change at all - having said that, work and family was taking it's toll.

Recovery was taking forever. DOMS would last 4-5 days (and still do)and I was getting to the point where I could only manage a workout every 5 days - sometimes leaving 10 days between leg or chest sessions.

After GLP1 went back to 3/4 day splits depending on work/home commitments (guess this was my cruise).

I was taking KA and Adaptogen and didn't really notice any difference.

However, I have just measured up a few bodyparts and weighed myself and am surprised.

At start of BP I posted

Age: 40
Height: 5’ 10’
Weight: 193 lbs
Body fat – not sure – a little more than I’d like.
Chest 42”
Waist 34”
Neck 16”
Arms 15.5”

Now
Age: Still 40
Height: Ditto
Weight: 199lbs - up 6lbs
Chest: 43.25" (up 1.5")
Waist: 34"
Neck: 16"
Arms: 15.75" (up 0.25")

So, things are actually much better than I had thought.

I think I took famine too deep and it took a long time to get traction.

I think I may need to look at my dosing/timing for KA and Adaptogen.
