For sure, you know it when you hit it. Falling off track of subject though. What I do to measure my resting HR is in the morning I grab my phone and get my pulse. I use the stop watch, let it count out to 10 and at that time, I multiple how many times it beat in 10sec and multiple by 10. If you want...

Well, I am back from the gym and I tell you. Chin-ups kill me... I had to PUSH them out and I can't even say that my form was all that great. I did a 4,5,6 rep sets. ALSO, I loaded loaded up for squats at 225lbs and had a HARD time pushing out 4 in the first set. What I did was grabbed a bench and t...

True, but it depends on your body and what your min and max are and where you should be at for the goal of your workout. Also, when doing cardio, try not to keep your HR in the 150-160 zone as for your body is not burning fat nor building muscle. This is the phase between aerobic and Anaerobic. This...

On off days?

Curious, on the off days from Famine through Feast can one do some free hand exercises such as push-ups, sit-ups, bent-over twists, etc.?

Would you advise this or against this?

The Start!

So, I am back from vacation now and a full weeks rest from the gym. Today, I am starting my Famine Phase. My resting HR is about 60BPM. For Breakfast I had 3 pieces of toast with butter totaling about 1.5tbs and a hard boiled egg. That puts me at 362 calories, 16g of fat, 40g of Carbs, and 15g of pr...

I know it's not the cheapest route but you can also do is purchase a HR Monitor. Polar has the best for cost HR Monitors on the market and you can get a few different ones.

I haven't utilized mine for lifting yet but I have one that I use for my cycling so I can keep my HR out of the 150-160 range.

Famine routine #3 dry run

I did a dry run of the day 3 routine for the famine... Talk about tiring, I think when I actually do that I will have to decrease some of the weights more than I did today. Today wore me out but one hell of a push!

This is going to be amazing!

Today, after my school finals for the semester I went to the gym. I was hyped to go but damn, my upper body is weak... I need to build it up. I had one of the trainers re-measure me from my March measurements. I think I am doing rather well and think with the BP I will drastically increase those num...

Also, regarding my diet. I can control it to where I can eat only like 1500 calories for the famine stage but my matabolism is crazy and my body would LOVE to snack ALL DAY LONG.

I tell you, I can eat and eat and eat and not gain weight... :?

Curious about results... Was anyone in the same boat as me?

Like I stated before, I will not begin this till after my vacation but back when I started hitting the gym in March, I have been wanting to find the thing that would yield the best results. My measurements when I first started the gym were the following: 6'3" 184lb 14% BF Chest 38" Arms 11...

I have ALWAYS been the Tall, think type. I can and could eat anything and my weight would not vary much at all... I stand at 6'3" and since I have been I have put on some muscle so my weight has increased and I am now at 190lb but still thin. A little over a month ago my BF was 14% and I am bet...
